Pelatih PSIS Semarang Gilbert Agius percaya diri timnya akan segera bangkit pada putaran kedua kompetisi Liga 1 Indonesia 2024/25 yang kini telah menginjak pekan ke-18.

 

Dikutip dari laman resmi Liga Indonesia, Senin, rasa percaya diri Agius ini hadir karena timnya telah melakukan beberapa perombakan di dalam skuad PSIS Semarang.

 

"Komposisi pemain yang ada saat ini akan jadi andalan kami untuk mengarungi 16 pertandingan tersisa di musim ini. Kami ingin bangkit dan meraih kemenangan. Dengan begitu kepercayaan diri tim akan meningkat," jelas Agius.

 

Pada pertandingan pekan ke-18, PSIS Semarang harus rela takluk dengan skor tipis 1-2 atas tuan rumah Persita Tangerang di Stadion Pakansari, Kabupaten Bogor, Minggu.

Meski menelan kekalahan walau sudah diperkuat beberapa pemain anyar, pelatih berkebangsaan Malta tersebut mengaku tidak risau dan percaya dengan kemampuan anak-anak asuhnya.

 

Mengenai jalannya pertandingan, Agius mengatakan jika performa anak asuhnya turut dipengaruhi oleh gol cepat Persita Tangerang dan kartu merah yang didapatkan oleh penyerang PSIS Semarang Evandro Brandao.

"Saya senang dengan pemain, puas dengan apa yang mereka tunjukkan seperti di laga ini. Hanya saja memang sayangnya kami harus kalah," terang Agius.

 

"Kami memulai pertandingan di babak pertama dan kedua dengan kondisi yang tertinggal di menit-menit awal. Ini tentunya jadi hal yang sulit memulai laga dengan tertinggal satu gol," tutupnya.

 

Selanjutnya pada pekan ke-19 Liga 1 Indonesia, PSIS Semarang dijadwalkan menjamu Persis Solo di Stadion Jatidiri, Semarang, Senin (20/1) pukul 19.00 WIB.
